Salbutamol (Ventolin Evohaler) is an inhaled bronchodilator (bronchodilator) that belongs to the class of medicines called beta-2 adrenergic agonists. It is used to relieve bronchospasm caused by asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other respiratory conditions. It is a type of medicine called an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that is often used to prevent bronchospasm.
Salbutamol (Ventolin Evohaler) is available in the following inhalation strengths: 2.5–10 mcg/mL, 5–10 mcg/mL, and 10 mcg/mL. The inhaler is available only with your doctor's prescription.
Salbutamol (Ventolin Evohaler) is available as a 2.5 mcg/mL or 5–10 mcg/mL inhaler. It is used to deliver medicine into the airways and relieve bronchospasm. It delivers the medication through the airways at a steady dose.
The recommended starting dose of salbutamol for an adult is 2.5 mcg/kg body weight/hour. This dose can be increased up to 5–10 times a day. If the dose is not effective, or if there is an acute bronchospasm, or if there is no improvement in your symptoms, your doctor may increase your dose to 5–10 mcg/kg body weight/hour.
